Today is a rare sunny day during winter here in York. During this strange time, we are not able to go anywhere by train or bus. Walking around the City with a camera is a good idea. York is an unique city. It is an important city in the North. Also, the city that always come second. For religion, it is second to Canterbury. Politically, it was second to London. It was the capital in the North of England from Roman time. Vikings, Saxons and Noman continue to occupy the city. At a point, the city is the centre of religion for the North of England appointed by the Pope. The city itself is not big and surrounded by city wall. Two rivers flow through the City and both have a reputation of flood regularly if not every year. Within the walls, many streets are called ’gate’. The names are from all sources of outside influences.
